Marci Colb, M.S., has been a college administrator for 15 years, working as an admissions officer, assistant to the President, student advisor, coordinator of student activities, and residence hall director. Through these roles, she has gained extensive knowledge about the inner workings of colleges and universities. Marci has worked at two-year, four-year, private, and public schools; thus, she understands the nuances of and differences between institutions and why some are a better fit for particular students than others. Her advising background also allows her to seek input from students in order to provide the best support and advice.
Currently, Marci works at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine as the International Student Program Admission and Student Affairs Coordinator. This experience enables Marci to provide students with information about what admission offices are and are not looking for in the college application process.
Marci has been working with prospective college students for five years both in the private setting and with the Denver Scholarship Foundation. She has developed tools and expertise to help guide students in the college selection and admission process. Additionally, she has a certificate in Independent Educational Consulting from the University of California, Irvine and a Master’s Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University. Both of these programs helped Marci build skills to assist students with finding the right college match.
Marci has visited dozens of colleges throughout the United States, where she has met with admissions officers to learn about their schools’ approach to the admissions process.
She is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA).
